TEN GREAT TIPS FOR BETTER PHOTOS
Your finished portrait depends on the quality of the photographs you send.
MORE is definitely BETTER!
Here are ten tips to help you take great photos of your pet.
- We recommend taking 40-60 photos. (Professional photographers take hundreds of photos to get the shot they want.)
- Get in close to your pet filling the frame with him rather than scenery.
- Make sure your pet's EYES ARE OPEN!
- Take extra close-ups of the face, eyes & mouth for detail.
- It is helpful to have someone distract your pet while you take photos. Have lots of toys and treats nearby to focus his attention.
- Take photographs at your pet's eye level, about three feet away. Crouch down or put him on a chair or table.
- Take photos from different angles. Try to take the photos when the animal is looking to the right or left rather than straight on. Do not aim the camera down on your pet.
- Vary the lighting in your photos. Outdoor lighting is best, but flash is ok. See which looks best and send some of both.
- It is very important that the photographs are clear and accurate. Send at least one image that depicts the true coloration of your pet.
- If you would like two or more animals in your portrait, it is not necessary to capture them in the same photo. Send detailed photos of each animal separately and one or two of the animals together for the size relationship.
